One Piece Chapter 1118 was nothing short of amazing, as it featured many unforeseen circumstances. Eiichiro Oda has always been praised for his unpredictable nature, and in Chapter 1118, he does it again.

With the EggHead Island drawing to a close, the battle between the straw hats and Elders looked like it was going to be the chapter’s major talking point. However, the character that stole the spotlight was Jewelry Bonney.

Bonney has always been a fascinating character in the series. Her devil fruit, the Toshi Toshi no Mi, allows her to change her age and the age of others. However, in chapter 1118, Bonney uses her devil fruit to manifest the powers of the Sun God, Nika. Given Bonney has no connection to Luffy’s Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, the transformation caught everyone off-guard.

Bonney’s Toshi Toshi no Mi allows her to alter her age backward or forward. She has often used this in the series to sneak off and hide in specific places. Given her usual personality, it is one of the reasons she is still alive today. She can also use the fruit to altar the age of anyone she touches directly or indirectly. However, the devil’s fruit is its ability to access multiple timelines and use any ability from either.

The technique was named Distorted Future and is one of the most terrifying techniques in the series. Bonney first uses this ability in Chapter 1101, where she draws power similar to that of giants. She knew how his powers worked after hearing stories of Nika and his stretchiness from her father. However, after seeing Luffy transform firsthand, she could transform, even mirroring his appearance.

Just like Luffy Bonny’s Nika Form isn’t without its limitations. In Luffy’s case, he can’t maintain the form when he gets exhausted. However, in Bonney’s case, Distorted Future has a time limit and can’t be used for long.

Secondly, Bonney’s inability to use Haki makes her a weaker target than Luffy. But she is still a fierce opponent for anyone in the series. Her new form opens up many possibilities, leaving many fans excited about what will come in the next chapter.
